My background
Life Coaching for me is a way of supporting others finding their natural inner worth, offering a practical and forward-looking approach. As a therapist, I found that I had already been using some of these methods in an informal way, as an alternative to therapy, with friends and relatives, and the use of the phone made it more time-friendly. I was very impressed with the rapid progression and sense of achievement possible with Life Coaching.
I have trained with The Life Coaching Academy and with many other trainers. I also run a practice as a Life Coach and Art Therapist at Cambridge Complementary Health Centre.
Previous experience
- Running a Creative Arts Therapy practice for eight years, specialising in child arts therapy. A significant influence in my training was Sue Fish, the outstanding innovator in the field of humanistic child therapy.
- On-site therapist in primary schools.
- Running many Creative Arts workshops, in England and abroad, focusing on the subject "Finding our creative potential". I have a passion for creativity and often am touched and delighted by the joy experienced in its unfolding.
- Using the arts in business team-building and training in education.
- Training therapists and counsellors, using the arts to explore recent issues of shame in therapy and education.
- Tutor for dyslexic students in a college for further education.
- Teaching AS level art at a college for further education.
- Research into emotional literacy and staff development, using the arts to facilitate insight and change.
- Practice as an aromatherapist and body-work practitioner.
- As an architect - running an architects' practice together with my partner.
On a personal level I feel extremely privileged to have had many years of guidance by a well-qualified meditation master, which has resourced and grounded me as a person.
I am married and a mother of two children who are now at university and Sixth Form College.
